Our Story

More Than a Game. It’s a Lifestyle.

Some of the most meaningful moments in life happen when you least expect them.

For our family, one of those moments happened while watching an NBA playoff game together.

Our youngest daughter looked over and said:

“You know what, Daddy… you’re my Doach.”

I smiled and asked:

“A Doach?”

She replied:

“Yeah… you’re my Dad Coach.”

At that moment, a single word captured something we had felt for years.

A Doach isn’t simply someone who coaches from the sideline. A Doach is the dad who wakes up early for practices, rebounds basketballs in the driveway until the sun goes down, drives thousands of miles to tournaments, celebrates victories with humility, and teaches confidence after defeat.

A Doach understands that who his child becomes matters far more than any final score.

The game eventually ends.

Being their Doach never does.

From Doach to Moach

As we reflected on that conversation, we realized something even bigger.

Alongside every Doach is often a Moach.

The mom who encourages, comforts, organizes, sacrifices, celebrates, and quietly holds everything together behind the scenes. She is the one packing bags, coordinating schedules, offering reassurance after disappointment, and reminding her children to believe in themselves.

She is just as much a coach in life as she is in sports.

That realization inspired Moach Life.

Doach Life and Moach Life celebrate the dads and moms who show up—not only for the games, but for every part of the journey.

Beyond the Court and Field

The more we thought about what it means to be a Doach or a Moach, the more we realized the idea reaches far beyond youth sports.

Sports may provide the setting, but parenting is the lifelong responsibility.

We need to be their Doach and Moach before they get to the court or field, while they are competing, after they leave, and long after they play their final game.

The most important lessons aren’t learned only on a basketball court, baseball field, soccer pitch, volleyball court, or hockey rink.

They’re learned during the ride to practice.

At the dinner table.

While helping with homework.

Working through disappointment.

Celebrating success with humility.

Showing kindness when no one is watching.

Listening when life feels uncertain.

Encouraging them when confidence is hard to find.

Leading by example when words aren’t enough.

One day, every athlete plays their final game.

But they never stop needing a Doach or a Moach.

Our Mission

Our greatest responsibility isn’t simply raising great athletes. It’s helping raise confident adults, compassionate friends, resilient leaders, loving spouses, dedicated parents, and people of character who will one day guide and inspire the next generation.

That is the heart of Doach Life and Moach Life. Our mission is to encourage parents to be present, lead with humility, listen more than they lecture, encourage more than they criticize, and love their children unconditionally—both on and off the court.

The trophies will eventually be packed away. The uniforms will be outgrown. The schedules will change, and the games will end. But the lessons we teach, the example we set, and the relationship we build with our children will remain.

Because in the end, it isn’t only about what our kids accomplish. It’s about who they become—and knowing we were always there to help guide them along the way.
